Okay, let’s admit it! We’re inundated with hats. For some of us, we can wear anything up to fifteen or twenty in any one day. I’m not talking about the cute wooly ones or the fun character hats, but rather the many different kinds of hats that we all have and wear every single day, every single moment. Sometimes it may be just a basic hat but we all wear them no matter what age we may be and often wear more than one at any given time!
So what are some of these hats?
First there’s the Basic Hat - Mother, father, sister, brother, husband, friend, wife, son, or daughter.
Then there’s the Premium Hat – Which includes whatever your given occupation may be – labourer, office worker, writer, editor, cleaner, doctor, mechanic….
Add to that – housewife, cleaner, cook, laundry maid, gardener, driver, lawn mower, or whatever covers all your ‘home’ duties and hobbies.
Lastly, we have the Deluxe Hats – These hats change quite regularly and are not better than the other hats, but not everyone has them. Carer, lover, guardian, companion, provider…
Think about it. How many hats do you wear each day? Sometimes in all the changing of so many hats it can be easy to lose sight of who we really are – just you; the person you were created to be. It is so important to take the time to be you. We can give so much of ourselves every single day that after a while we simply forget who we are, what we are meant to be doing and what we enjoy. Take a moment through each day and enjoy each ‘hat’ and the special things that go with each one. But remember who you are and what you enjoy, then make the time to enjoy them too. (DG)
